Laurie Baker

Laurie Baker is the architecture this generation needs. We have seen many occasions when large-scale construction has been associated with environmental problems. Where the world stopped thinking about green solutions, Laurie Baker started thinking. Each of his designs reflects his concern for the environment. Something that promises to be careful. Lauri Baker was born in the UK last March. On April 2, 1917, he settled in Kerala, India, where he died on April 1, 2007.

The thought of an effortless life in harmony with Mother Nature. The Indian government awarded him the Padmashree for his work.His way of thinking is very organic and appropriate to the characters. His way of looking at architecture embodies a light but flamboyant creative spirit that earned him the Gandhi title for architecture.

The efficient use of raw materials and cutting methods are some of the specialties of his designs. There is not a single city in India that has not seen a baker's work. His outstanding works include the School of Drama and Theater of Fine Arts, The Indian Coffee House, Literacy Village.

The ideas were mainly inspired by brick structures. Its structures have a really earthy feel to it. Aside from the very simple basics you swore by, the design had a really unconventional twist. In his day, when the world was still learning about sustainability, his ideas were accepted in society. His architectural spirit was ahead of its time.Its designs were futuristic to say the least.
